Jessie is a 3L at the University of Kansas School of Law. She is a current Access to Technology Fellow at Kansas Legal Services in Topeka, Kansas. A lifelong Kansan, Pringle received her B.A. in History also from the University of Kansas, where she served as Student Body President. Outside of school, she enjoys kickball, golf and discussing public policy.
Jessie has previously interned at the KU Medical-Legal Partnership at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. It helped her find a passion for legal aid and public health, which she wrote about for the KU Law Blog. After that summer, she extended her time at the hospital by becoming a volunteer. Pringle has also had the privilege of interning for the Honorable Steve Leben as well as taking his Legislation & Statutory Interpretation course. Her time at the Judicial Center gave Jessie special insight and appreciation for the Appellate Courts and clear writing. While at school, Pringle has helped raise thousands of dollars and promote awareness for local women advocacy groups as an executive board member of KU Women in Law. She currently serves as Co-President of KU Law Student Ambassadors and as the Chairwoman of the Legal Services for Students Advisory Board

Pringle chose the blog’s name “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” not only as a homage to her home and host site’s state, but because hopefully with the help and use of resources to increase access to justice, everyone can be “where the clouds are far far far behind” them and “troubles melt like lemon drops.” Ultimately meaning, the resources and increased access helps pro se litigants and underserved communities to have justice and help to end their legal troubles.
